    Obstetrical / Antenatal : Applet / Popup

    Pretty Major Popup.

Seems like alot of the same information we use in Ontario.

The forms we use are here

    https://www.oma.org/forms/ontarioantenatalrecord2005.pdf

Pages 1 and 3 are the main sheets, 2 and 4 are the "back sides" of the paper copy that no one really uses.

Visits should be the first (Leftmost) Tab (the Default Tab) as it will be the most used Tab.  I assume this tab is like the Consult Tab but OB specific ?

Alot of the other Tabs are "one time" tabs.

Basically designed by George ... I'll let him comment as he is the OB/GYN.

However, I think the main design parameter was for simplicity .. ie. a single level

The only places I have two levels is where I was forced to by lack of space.

There is no error checking on any of the fields so that you can enter any type of data ....

Re: Obstetrical / Antenatal : Applet / Popup

The visits tab is like a grid ... and new columns are added as you add a column.

The bottom field of the column is for notes, but as you can see, it's tiny.

So, if you enter text in the area below the grid, and leave the note field empty, then the text in the area is transferred to the note field when that column is added.

When you click on a note field, it transfers that text back to the area so that you can see what you wrote ...much like a spreadsheet.

Simplicity in usage should be the goal.

Giving priority to the much used tabs and hiding the one time tabs is simplicity in usage.

Leaving room for a Tab if needed in the future is a good idea as well.

    Hi Jason

You are right, that most of this is used only one time in most cases.

There is also a lot of information, that is not really important, but required by the hospitals and Health Dept.

I think, that compared to all other existing EMRs, that have some kind of OB integrated, now Synapse is the best, basically because it will be easy to use, will look familiar and is kept simple.

I will try in the next couple of days to make templates for postpartum visit and probably one for the delivery note, but they may be just stand alone templates, as I am not sure if Graham should spend time to integrate them in the applet.
