    Office Ally

Considering trying synapse, and was wondering if this works w/ synapse (ie. export a HCFA billing file that you can upload to OA)  Is anyone using this to do their billing? I'm using it now, and it's free as long as you don't go over 50% in medicare pts. also, does synapse do bill logs and aging?

    thanks,

    Bryan

Generating a HCFA form is potentially possible.  Just needs more programming hours to complete.

Otherwise, you can use the billing information created by the superbill and bill from that

thank you for the quick reply. office ally accepts tab separated batch files for billing, and i was wondering if synapse is able to create this.

are you able to attach/post an example of a deindentified file that office ally accepts.

Office Ally - I'd seen some good reviews of it, but the company has previously been a bit slow off the mark.

    Re: Office Ally

Here's how to automatically export your superbills

    1. In Settings/User/Interface/Export-Import Interface Settings - setup the appropriate shared directories ( must be different )
    2. The "PMS Import Directory" is where the exported superbills will go
    3. In Settings/Interface - click on the [Start Interface] button - if you get an error, you need to fix the directories you have not setup
    4. Create a consultation, and create some charges using a template which has CPT codes in the template eg. Injections: - Office Admin CPT
    5. Save the charges on the template
    6. Bring up a new superbill
    7. Allocate the diagnoses used in this consult
    8. Switch to the CPT codes tab to see all the CPT codes for this encounter
    9. Click on a CPT code, and then upto 4 diagnoses per CPT code
    10. Use up all the CPT codes like this
    11. Then click on "Export superbill"
    12. Within 30 seconds, or whatever the polling period you are using, a CSV file will appear in the directory specified in step 2
    13. Using Excel, Column L contains the CPT code,  M the item, O the ICD code, P the diagnosis etc.

    Re: Office Ally

thanks for the replies, i'll try to send a scrubbed export file for an example. OA is good for clearinghouse, and it has some accounting abilities, but somewhat limited in that eob's have to be linked manually. trying to find a clearinghouse/accounting solution that automates more of the process. i'm also looking at i-plexus right now, altho they're about $50 /month more expensive...
