Faster INBOX by retrieving items 10 at a time ?

How about pre-loading inbox items ?

    Good idea ?

I don't think it will make any difference ... because the bottleneck is that when you switch to a different result, the patient is loaded with all their data.  The result is tiny compared with the rest of the data that is fetched from the server.

Anyway, why are you still having inbox issues?  I thought that by allowing you to file directly into the patient's file it was going to stop your inbox from filling up ...

    It does.

    That's working quite well.

I came up with this idea going through old  Dr. zAlready Seen.   Lots of items !  My Metadata was better when I was reviewing items in my Inbox.  Everything in this world is a tradeoff.

It's funny how the enduser's impression of time is warped when (1) waiting on the phone and (2) reviewing inbox items - every second seems long.

    A)  Switching patients .... 2 seconds.

    B)  Sending and Displaying .pdf  .... 3-4 seconds.

    Total is usually 5-6 seconds.  (I shouldn't complain !).

This isn't a request but the INBOX would be faster if A) and B) could be done simultaneously.  I'm sure that's not easy.

No suprise there ... your secretary is not going to be able to wite metadata as welll as you.

    A watched pot never boils.

So, to save 3-4 seconds ... it might be possible to write a distributed task system that can accept a command from Synapse to load up a browser instance rather than for Synapse to start the browser.  That means the PDF might appear on your own PC, or in Firefox on a linux box that sits besides you.

Beta-14 is an experimental release that does this ... downloads a browser booster agent Smile

this is what is possible.  I have a 46 inch LCD across the room attached to my media PC.

I installed the browser agent on it ... and so when I click on the inbox item, a browser appears on that PC with the PDF .... almost instantly, and there is no locking of the Synapse GUI. Cool
