One Need: for instant messaging Follow up needs for patients in the Office. "ie. Follow up in 3 weeks for your heartburn".

of these would be very handy. #(2) might be OK in a popup. I would
really like a real time feel to (1). Maybe a tweaked Synapse Chat ? I
could give my secretary a third monitor ... just for synapse chat, and
she could see the message come up in real time.

I wonder if the messaging could be done on the ancillary screen ?
It would be nice to be able to read messages on one screen and use the EMR on the other.
Same probably goes for the Physician's INBOX.
I'll outline some more usage scenarios later.
